ALT EFF is a festival for the people, by the people.
Our unique decentralised model means that festival events can be made relevant, engaging and impactful for audiences all over the world.
In 2024, we screened in over 100 public spaces, 700+ schools, and 70 cities across 18 wildly different Indian states and hosted screenings and events across New York, Ireland, Chile, Nepal, and Costa Rica.
OUR VISION
To share powerful stories that spark climate action - through films, conversations, and local screenings that are easy to access, rooted in community, and made to inspire real change. All over the world.
We know how to mould the festival to the community, it’s in while holding onto the same thing everywhere: stories that shift something inside. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all climate conversation.
That’s why every ALT EFF event is hyper-local by design. We co-create with artists, NGOs, teachers, youth groups, pubs, clubs, galleries, uncles, and aunties. We also programme in local languages, dub when needed, and make sure the best global cinema is accessible and reaches far and wide. The overarching theme is the environment, and our curation team can tailor thematic selections based on relevance to a specific region or country.
Over the past five years, we have showcased hundreds of groundbreaking films, including winners and nominees at the Academy Awards and prestigious festivals like Sundance and Cannes as well as indie filmmakers.
Bring ALT EFF to You

ALT EFF
IRELAND
Now in its third edition, the All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) makes its return to Ireland where it is held at diverse venues. To make this massive convergence of cinema and community happen, we team up with unique local screening partners who share this vision.
This year’s festival weaves together six days of screenings and three panel conversations, enriched by live music, handicraft workshops, photography workshops, a pub quiz night, radio features, a farm-to-fork gathering, and a field excursion Ireland’s ‘Nature Boy’,Seán Ronayne.
