Synopsis

The Chonyi sub-tribe have been living in harmony with the Cha Simba caves and its natural inhabitants. The film is a portrayal of this intimacy that is hindered by a cement factory, trying to invade their homeland. Millicent and her family spotlight this reality of Kenya and the world.

From the filmmaker

Across the world, the voices and livelihoods of the people who directly depend on a healthy environment are routinely disregarded and exploited in the face of profit. Those most affected are often the poorest and most vulnerable communities who have to live with the consequences of environmental degradation. We hope that by amplifying their voices across Kenya, it will demonstrate to decision-makers the immense value of the site and the need for its protection.
