Synopsis

Saline water seeps into homes, making everyday life harder to sustain. Through the voices of women witnessing this reality, the film sheds light on the growing threat of tidal flooding — a disaster largely ignored by authorities, as families risk losing their homes, livelihoods and future.

From the filmmaker

The documentary emerged from years of reporting, listening, and returning to the communities. The reporting surrounding this issue helped amplify the voices of affected communities and contributed to strengthening their long-standing demand for official recognition of tidal flooding as a disaster. On 28 January 2026, the Government of Kerala officially declared coastal high-tide flooding a state-specific disaster. I hope the film helps viewers to see tidal flooding not as an isolated environmental phenomenon, but as a question of justice, memory, and resilience.
