We know Chipko through its iconic photographs. But how many know the people behind them? At 83, Sudesha Devi takes us back to the movement she helped shape, through memories, forests, and archival footage. Her story brings the women leaders of Chipko into focus, honouring their courage and legacy.

The title ‘This Tree Won't Fall’ serves a dual purpose. It symbolizes the unwavering resolve of the women who literally embraced trees to save them from being felled. It also represents Sudesha Devi's resilience and steadfast commitment to environmental activism within the Chipko Movement. The film becomes a resource, honoring the courage and tenacity of those who came before, inspiring future generations to continue the fight for a sustainable and equitable world.
