Synopsis

For a living, he showcases films in villages on natural farming and watershed management. Now the teachings are put to the test with the brother’s first crop on their ancestral land. In an almost Charlie-Chaplin style film, two new farmers utilise an old tool against pests - a ‘chutney’ of chili, ginger, onion and garlic.

From the filmmaker

While making the film, our intention was not to prove any particular farming method right or wrong. Rather, we wanted to understand how farmers make decisions when facing challenges in their crops, drawing on their own experiences, local knowledge, and the options available to them. Using humour and satire in the voice-over, delivered in the local Malvi language, we have tried to present this farming experience in a simple and engaging way, rooted in its real-life context.
