Synopsis

An intimate insight into a seaweed community in Tamil Nadu, where ecofeministic stories reside, thrive and learning to survive. The film layers out their livelihoods, their relationship with the sea, and the future they envision for the women of the coming generations. Is this relationship with the ocean worth keeping?

From the filmmaker

This is my first documentary film. It was an honour to meet these amazing women and bond with them. Each had a story of their own to tell. Them venturing out into the sea taught them to be the boss of their own life and stand up for themselves despite the society's conservative structure. They still have more battles to win on the land. The entire village came together to help me be a bridge between them and the world.
