Synopsis

Olive farming is a sacred generational practice for Palestinians; it is connection to country, culture and ancestry. The practice and their homeland are both under systematic destruction. Naseer Abufarha returns to Palestine from the US to implement a successful fair-trade network for small-scale olive farmers.

From the filmmaker

The regenerative storytelling that my filmmaking work embodies aims to subvert dominant narratives that keep us distanced, overwhelmed, and disconnected – and instead strengthens narratives that transform our sense of what is possible by utilizing our creativity, cultures, and histories as resources. I found a shared passion and commitment to place with the farmers I met in Palestine, including the idea that we are members of an ecosystem and part of a broader community of living things.
