Synopsis

A city wilts under a blistering heat wave. Through Traffic Constable Laxman Choubey and workers living closest to the heat, we see lives shaped by extreme weather. Against Naseeruddin Shah’s narrated poetry, the heat becomes a stark lens on class, privilege, and who gets to escape it.

From the filmmaker

It is a reflection of the brutal summers I’ve witnessed growing up in North India, where the heat doesn’t just scorch the land, it scorches lives. They are the invisible engines that keep our chaotic systems moving even at peak-heat, quietly enduring while the more privileged stay insulated behind air conditioners, almost inert, un-reacting and apathetic. This film is about the suffocation, survival, and silent suffering of our most vulnerables in the face of global warming, policy neglect and systemic inequities.
