Synopsis

For young Deva, getting to school through relentless monsoon rains is a daily challenge. Set against the landscapes of rural Maharashtra, this musical, magical, and hopeful tale follows his determination to keep learning, with his grandfather beside him, helping him find a playful and ingenious way forward.

Drawing on my background in precision lighting and composition, I sought to capture the raw beauty of rural India through an ultra-realistic, cinematic lens. I have always been drawn to capturing the quiet strength of children in my visual work, and Deva perfectly embodies this spirit. Ultimately, this film celebrates rural childhood and the transformative power of education, proving that when nurtured with love and opportunity, every child has the potential to shape a brighter future.
